10 inch is the best choice![]()

Most defiantly the Atlas 10" Hyd. JP w/GaugeIs what I had on my last one with a Merc 250XS and also have one now on my present rig with a 250 SHO.
No matter what engine you chose that JP gives you a lot of adaptability for water conditions as well as load.![]()
I had the Atlas 10" hyd on my 721. That is what I will be getting on the 921.
Ok thanks guys!
10 inch setback seems to be the number. I don't have onebut might!

Question for you that do, can you adjust it while you are running to dial it in?
I had a 10" Bob's on my Ranger and you could but I don't know the Atlas product as I've not tried it out yet. It's at the top of my list from what I read but want to know if you can dial it in/adjust it while running to get that optimum performance?
Chuck D
(Currently shopping for my next bass boat)
Chuck - You can definitely adjust on the run. I do all of the time and it's one of the single best investments I make on my boats. You have a lot more flexibility in changing conditions and it's much easier to adjust for better performance.
Yes you can adjust it on the run and will go from top to bottom or visa versa in about 8 sec. Would not be without a Hyd JP now and most defiantly the Atlas. Not the first sign of trouble out of either one of them I have had.
Chuck, you can adjust while running WOT. Gauge reads consistent, so you can return to favorite settings.
My Atlas will not go up while running, I have to back out of the throttle to make it go up. Am I the only one that is having this issue?
Nope, you not the only one Clinton, The few I have used did the same thing.
I would personally spend a little extra for the Bobs plate.
Thanks, yes so far, I like the bob's plate better. It seems like the plate gets in a bind when it's under a load, I can't even jack it up at 1/2 throttle. This is my first Atlas, so I assumed it may have been defective, and this thread brought up my curiosity.
Every bob's plate I have ran has never had that issue.![]()
We have never had a problem raising at full throttle on any of ours but anything made by the hand of man is subject to a number of units not being perfect
"Luminous beings are we not this crude matter." Yoda
mine wont raise at wot either, but will if I let off of it some.
Never had a problem with my 10" Atlas Hyd. JP going up or down no matter what speed I am going even @ WOT.
I heard you have to keep the slide tubes clean on these Atlas Plates or they will do that. I think someone had mentioned wiping them down with windex
I wipe mine down with BBS after every trip, might be why I do not have any problems with mine causing me any problems![]()
Since everyone seems to like the hydro plate, I'll play devil's advocate and say I always run a manual plate. I've always looked at it as one less thing to have to worry about having problems with.
I've never felt like it was worth the extra cost for 1-2 mph.
Having said that, I will say it's nice when you have to idle a long ways. You can raise the plate and idle with the motor trimmed down in shallower water.
