    Questions about the 618 Pro

I'm starting to look at a new bass boat and have seen a lot of good information on the 618 Pro. Here are three questions.
    1. Although the center glove box seems convenient, there are times I fish with poeple in the boat. Is there an option for a middle seat?.
    2. I have limited garage space. Does anyone know the length of the boat on the trailer with the swing away tongue?
    3. I currently have a Triton Tr-186. It is pretty good in the rough water for a smaller boat. How does the 618 compare?

    Thanks

    1. Yes the middle seat is an option. What I did was take out the center box (three wing nuts), and then I'd put a throw cushion down for the other person to sit on.
    2. Someone that has one will chime in with the exact. 22-23'.
    3. Take one out and you'll see what all of us rave about.

Sorry, I could only answer one of the three.

Paul, I have a 618 and love it. First of all, I ordered a TR 186 and when I took a demo ride in the Phoenix I canceled my Triton order and reordered a 618. As Jason stated the glove box comes out with 3 wing nuts and replace it with a throw cushion and you have a cheap seat for the 3rd rider. Yes there is a 3rd seat option but not sure of the cost. I just went out and put a ruler on the boat and from the swing arm to the prop with the motor all the way trimed down you are looking at 21'6" give or take a few. As for the ride, I think I addressed that in the begining. The great thing about the Phoenix is there is very little setup that is needed for these Birds. You are at the right plase to ask any questions you have. I think I can speak for everyone here, we are all proud of our Birds and will share any info that we can to help you out with you choice in boats.

Re: Questions about the 618 Pro (Redtom)

I cant add anything to the conversation but the more time I spend in my boat (bought it in May of 2010) the more I am impressed with it. I fish a small 40 boat weekly evening tournament series on a very busy local lake and the water is very rough in all directions. This little boat is a gem! I watch my partner brace and grab the handles when coming up to rough water and the boat just glides right through. When you do get popped up high in the front it sits down oh so soft with zero slap or jar and geniunly rides and fishes much bigger. It requires very little trim to perform. What I mean is from WOT trim (mine likes a couple bumps down from full) to a high speed hard turn or rough water only slight adjustments to the trim is needed. Go for a drive in one and it wont take long to see what we are talking about.

I have had my 618 about a month and I absolutely love it. I came out off a Triton TR 20X and have no regrets. I seem to have just as much storage as the Triton and both handled about the same, but the Pheonix corners better. Pheonix has all the extras standard. A great boat at a great price.

Re: Questions about the 618 Pro (Packer Paul)

I don't think I can add anything here, but my 618 is flat out awesome with its stability, handling, performance in rough water and amount of storage space. The only boat I would trade it for is a bigger Phoenix!

If you choose to order one, I would suggest getting it with a 175. You don't necessarily need that extra HP, because it'll perform fine with a 150, but it sure is nice to have it.

Here's what the optional seat looks like.

or if you prefer a more humorous version:

Thanks for the pictures. Since it looks like you have a Glove box in the picture, are the seat and glovebox interchangeable?
