    BEWARE!!!

This message is simply to remind each of you all that we are vulnerable.
I took Monday off and invited a buddy to stay at the Lake so we can enjoy a day of fishing. So this morning we got up at 5:30 and headed down to the dock at 6 pm.
CRAP! Someone broke into all my storage compartments -broke the locks and stole every rod, reel, lure, if it was not glued down it was taken. Have you ever seen a grown man cry!
EVERYTHING! I haven't even had my bout 4 weeks but all my stuff was on the boat locked up and safe ( so I thought) and woke up to empty compartments. Thank God they didn't screw with my HDS * and HDS 7 and Fortex.
If you never thought it could happen to you- Think again!
Yes I have insurance but this still SUCKS!!

I just could not believe how easy it was for the bastards to break into the storage units.

get one of the T&H alarms...it's two way so you would have known someone was there...i know it's a little late for that but for those of you that leave your rig out like this it's cheap...also it gives you a chance to smoke someones ass with rock salt or a little #8 bird shot, that'll break the bastards from doing that again...

    Re: BEWARE!!! (Goobs)

Know the feeling!!! Was camping once and went down the next morning and everything was broke open!!! They even stole my batteries and siphoned most of my gas!!! Later found out my boat wasn't the only one that night.

I still camp at the same place but load my boat up each night and park it right next to my tent so I could hear anyone messing with it!!!

Good thought on the alarm system, might have to put one on my 619!!!

Btw, call your insurance my agent got all my gear replaced!!!

I put one in my boat and after a few trips I'm tickled to death with it. I have it sensitive enough that windy stormy weather will set it off. Half my lids won't lock and have plastic locking arms so it was this or $200+ worth of new locks. I feel better about the alarm.

    Re: BEWARE!!! (Goobs)

Sorry to hear about the A-holes gettin everything. I had Tackle Smith install an alarm system on mine a little over a month ago and it has paid for itself already. My alarm went off while at home, by the time I got to the boat, all I could see was a$$hole and elbows headed down the street. Couldnt get a shot off, but it at least let em know I am prepared.

They will ship a unit to you.

    Re: (revinkevin)

That sucks! I guard mine pretty well, but may not be a bad idea just for piece of mind. Do you just arm/disarm, or is there some sort of setup when you want to "activate" it? What type of sensors does this alarm system used? Thanks.

    Re: (MI17Explorer)

The one I got from Tackle Smith has a sensor, that if they even step on the trailer it sets it off, I have a romote to arm or disarm it and the remote beeps when the alarm goes off. but the Horn that is installed will wake the Devil

    Steve,
When we talked yesterday, my heart sunk dude! Sorry to hear about it. The alarm idea is a great idea. $200 for peace of mind. I think I am going to do it.

    Re: (papamark)

With the stainless steel locks, what breaks? It is the fiberglass around the locks or the locking arm or the lock base?

Sorry to read this. Look on the bright side (especially if you have insurance). This is your chance to replace all those rods/reels, lures, etc., you bought and never much liked.

Practically EVERYTHING was new! Steve had the latest rods, reels and all the top lures. I really think someone targetted him!
