I happen to have been working with an owner right now as well with the same problem. The outcome for him was check with the local OMC dealer on a nuetral safety switch.. I'm no OMC tech, but I had the same problem 15 years ago on a 115hp and the nuetral safety switch went bad and it was about $30 to repalce. Dave also sugested to clean the plastic bearing in the shifter. This owner noticed the trigger in the shifter/trottle had broken as well. I remembered seeing a shifter in the "old stuff" but it turned out to be for a Yamaha. I suggested EBay o replace it??
Hopefully I will go in on Sat. and try to organize all the "old stuff" to really get a handle on what we have.
