Questions about Eagle 170 and 180

I'm looking at an Eagle 170/180, but I have a couple of questions before I get down to serious searching.

How many rods can comfortably (with rod sox) fit in the rod box?

How difficult is it to convert to a 24 volt trolling motor? Is there room for batteries?

Unfortunately can't answer your your rod sox question because I don't use them. What I can offer is measurements and pictures if you want them. I do know that I can easily put 5 - 6 rods in my box (3 in the mounts and 2 - 3 in the bottom) without problem.

Same thing with the 24 volt; I can offer measurements and pictures as I'm still running the 12V system. From first glance, there doen't appear to be any issues. What I do see is that the mount for the third battery will have to be raised so that it is above the hoses for the livewell. I'm guessing that the wire gauge is OK for the lower power 24V motors, say a 70,but you will have to double check that.

Just got a 2012 176 Vinyl with a F70. We upgraded the TM to a 24V and got three batteries and three bank charger in the rear no problem. The 24V 70lb snatches the boat around nicely.
