Got the 10" jackplate put on our Viper DC 188. I think we may have found the set-up we've been looking for. Better bow lift and she is running like a scalded ape! Been a long time since that boat performed like this. FEELS GOOD!!!![]()

That is great news Joe! Once I get my motor back in running shape, I may get the spacers to give me 10" of set back. Then I may balance and blue print the prop, take OFF the skeg guard and see where I am at.
If I get desperate, I hear I can get some shaved heads and bring the HP way up, just have to run Premium! Expensive gas, but cheaper than a new 250 Pro XS!!!
Let us know your set up, maybe it can help me a little too!!
We haven't GPS'd it yet but I would guess by previous GPS readings we are probably in the low 70's. We are running about 1-3/4 inches below pad, 200 ho evinrude e-tec, 10" setback, 10-12 psi. 27 mazco 4 blade. With past trials we can get more top end with a 26 raker but she wants to chine. With the set up right now it is right at the beginning to chine but is very easy to handle.

not bad. I got a 190D with a 175 EFI with a 24p Trophy with an 8" jackplate and I get 69 MPH out of mine. So sounds like the jackplate made a good improvement. I wonder how mine would perform with a 10"

I've got one for sale if you're interested. Trying to decide between the Rite Hite and the Slidemaster. Both 10". I'll be selling whichever one I don't choose.
