    Ice Fishing

I thought I would entertain you guys with some photos from last Friday. 30 mph wind, -2 wind chill factor. At one point my shack flipped over on me and put my gas auger on my back. Good catch though....

    Ramp sums it up!

I think Boner has had enough.

We always feed the eagles a couple of trout to pay taxes to mother nature.....

And the payoff. Shrimp fed, ice water panfish. Best in the world. This pic is just my catch. My buddy had a couple more than I did.

Walleyes are just big perch, Butch. I have to drive a lot further for walleyes so I just go catch a bunch of perch instead. Seems like all of our walleyes are in lakes with sketchy ice. These deep hills lakes are safe enough to drive a car on, although I just walk. (Some years I drive when its thicker) I caught these fish in 75 ft. Suspended 30ft off the bottom. Thanks for all the comments guys. I didn't bother to put this thread anywhere but here cuz I thought it might generate some fun conversation with my Champ buddies.

    Roy,

Thanks for sharing the pictures of them perch. Best eating fish imo.

I can't believe it it that cold out there. It has been unseasonably warm over here. It reached 50 again both days this weekend. Looking at coming out to Terry Peak in early February. Do you ever do any skiing?

    Re: Ice Fishing (Lea)

Alma particularly enjoys the fish from that lake Lea. We see better test results from the Dr. everytime I feed it to her. I think the pure water and freshwater shrimp forage base is part of it. Its over a mile high, that's why it's so cold up there, Rob. It was actually in the 40's in town that day. And no, I don't ski. I was a New York City bicycle messenger for 5 years in the 80's, and after that I don't take too many risks.

Those fish sure look nice but you can keep all that white stuff and ice.

Nice haul of perch. Have you ever had them like this:

They taste better this way if you can put up with the bones.
