Having some thoughts on trying to flush mount a 997. If the speedo (not even connected) and lowrance flasher (never been turned on) get removed from the console, it looks like there might be enough space. Has anyone tried doing this or have some ideas on what the best way to do this would be?

That 997 is a big unit.
I'm in the process to change my dashboard, I buy carbon fiber/kevlar sheet and I'm going to cut the size I need , then make the holes (for a new gauges) I really don't think is very dificult mount another divice if this device come with the mounting hardware but this is only my opinion...
Aluminum diamond plate looks good too.
