On my 97 181, the fuel fill cap has a screw knob on the upderside of the cap. I know this is some type of fuel system air regulator but can someone tell me how it works and where it should be set?
Thanks,
Terry

Never noticed that on mine -- I would guess it's to allow air to escape?? Interested to hear the answer too...
I noticed that also the other day when I thought I could siphon gas out of my boat, but I am glad to know that I cant.

On my 2006 203, it's an air vent. You can unscrew it to clean the filter that is up in there. It's a screen, designed to keep the bugs outa your fuel, and still have a good vent system and no extra vent punched thru the fiberglass.
The only reason it unscrews is to clean the screen if needed. It has no adjustment at all..
