    1988 Buyers Guide

I just received a 1988 buyers guide that I bought on eBay for less than $20. It is 94 pages of everything you want to know about Cajun boats (how they were built, lifetime transom, whats in the paint, etc) I mean everything, there is even a picture of the plant. Let me know if I can provide you any information.

    Re: 1988 Buyers Guide (bluegillbill)

The book is straight form Mastercrafters corporation, the company that built cajun boats, and Samuel L. Davidson, the president of the company at the time.

It will take some time, but I will see how much it will cost to make a copy at Kinkos.

You should be able to buy a trailer from another manufacturer, that will work on your boat. I'd go to a local bassboat dealer, and see about them ordering just a trailer for you! Might even be able to go direct to the manuf?

Awww yes. That was the "brochure" that Cajun used to put out. It wasn't a pamplet, it was a book. It didn't have babes in bikini's to sell boats. It had sections on the glass to rosin ratio in the hull. It told how the transom made. What kind of valves went into the livewells and why. How the deck lids were made, and what kind of insulation was on them. ('88 was the first year for the yellow insulation on the deck lids IIRC.) There was never a better "how to buy a boat" book than those.

I met Sam at a boat show once. He actually sold me my first Cajun.

I am working on getting the book scanned and burned on a cd. It will be cheaper and easier to copy and mail.

    Re: 1988 Buyers Guide (BJS)

I would love to buy a disc of that brochure. I was the other bider on ebay but was out of town at the end of the auction and missed making a higher bid. I felt bad that I had missed the opportuniy. But I am glad that it went to some one who is willing to share. Hope you may even have the opportunity to profit from this. I am an art director in an advertising agency in Houston. If you have any problems with getting it scanned I would be glad to do so and make a pdf of the brochure. But hopefully you already have a disc I could buy. Thanks

Just saw your post on the 1988 buyers guide. I would be interested getting a copy. Let me know how much. I purchased a 1988 Ricky Greene Fishing Machine, with a 150 Mariner. I would love to know more about the boat. Let me know the cost.

Say Steve. What color is your RGFM? I used to help out at the local dealer who sold them back then. We sold Mariner motors too, so the boat may have come out of "The Boat Center." Who knows. I might have sold it originally.

    Wayne,
The boat is red/silver/black. It came from the boat center. The guy I bought it from is a Volvo mechanic. His dad owns Paul's Volvo in Richmond. He told me he bought it off the showroom floor. You may have sold it!

Nope. I didn't sell it, but I do remember it being at The Boat Center.

I just bought a Rajin' Cajun. Any chance of getting a copy of the guide you have?
