Yamaha Questions

It looks like allot of you guys run Yamaha's on your Blazer (I have one also vmax225 efi) Just a few Q's
Does any one of you run a 300 hpdi?
How do you like it?
How would you compair it to a 300Merc?
How about the 250 hpdi Pros / Cons. Compaired to Merc / Evinrude dfi's ????

I ran a 300hpdi on a 210 blazer and loved it. It hauled a!!! was great on fuel and oil no problems with it at all great motors.

OK that's just not fair! How much ? and when are they available?
I know this might be a dumb question but how did that motor run?

depends on what you are wanting. I have a yamaha on mine and love it, but I also know that mercury is faster on a level playing field. so that being said if you want the most speed you can get then the Merc is your motor.... my .02........Hank

Speed IS awsome!!! but, dependability is what I am really looking for.
For what it cost to replace/ repair these new design motors know a days.....
It would be nice to see extended warrantees for the Merc Racing motors....

Basstamet, it's really the luck of the draw. Both motors are great and both will blow. With the raise limiter of the Yamaha, it will give Mercury competition. Just let it boil down to the color of your boat. Pick the motor that best matches you color choices and be happy.
