    Hydraulic Steering

I have an xb2002 with a modified 260ss that has cable steering. I was really wanting to put hydraulic steering on it, but a few guys told me I should keep the cable steering with this HP and set up??

I am spoiled by my Bullet that has the hydraulic, any thoughts??? The boat will run well over 100 with no effort but it's a pain to get it on the trailer or nosed in to a dock.

Money well spent, the best improvement you can make on an Allison boat.

    Re: Hydraulic Steering (fishnfireman)

Which one is "the good one"?? My Bullet has the Sea Star, should I put that kit on the ally?
The guys around here told me that I needed to keep the cable steering to feel the torque, they said it might help feel a blowout before it happens? What's your take?

I'ts the Sea Star pro HC6345

Rumor has it Darris Allison had them tweak a few thigs before he would give his blessing.

As far as the "FEEL" For a lot of us that was one of the hold-up's for a long time.I have had both., now, It could all be in my head. Or the seat of my pants. But I think I can tell more about what the the boat wants or what it is doing..with the hydraulic The only blowout's i have had were so sudden that by the time the torque came off the wheel it was to late..Also when all is set up right at wot you should not have any torque. So In my opinion the attitude of the boat is more of an indicator of a blow out than the steering. But I am just one opinion here. And those are my thoughts on the subject...I will say this..I have NEVER heard anyone say they wanted the cable BACK.

Purchase an Allison kit from Bill @ Allison or one of their Dealers, it comes with everything you need to do the job quickly and correctly.
