    Speedometer nipple on lower unit

I was reading another post and it talked about the possiblilty of this nipple breaking if you try to get it out. If it does break can it be replaced easily? Is this part plastic and is it threaded into the L/U?

I am talking about the nipple that attaches the tubing from the intake hole for the speedometer in the L/U to the tubing that goes to the speedo. I hope you understand what I am talking about. By the way Johnson 150 FS.

Mine is plastic, and yes ya can drill em out very carefully and replace. Use a cigerrette lighter or small butuane torch and heat the hose very!!! slightly and ti will slip on nicely!

If it breaks you can drill it and replace it.

Does it screw in or just fit real tight?

No problem to replace. They are a tight fit just spray a little WD40 on it and lightly tap it in.
