    ROYAL PURPLE?????

any opinions on 2 stroke royal purple,i ran out of yammalube and all i could get my hands on was some royal purple, there was an ex yamaha dealer there at the tournament,he told me no issues what so ever to run it in my 250 hpdi he also said no need to run ringfree with it as it is a synthetic and burns cleaner, this has nothing to do with the cost of oil or the availibility as i still have to order both, but the engine actually runs quite a bit better actually think i picked up couple hundred rpms(maybe not could be cooler temps) but can anyone recommend or not recommend using it,thanks in advance

I may be mistaken, but I don't believe a company can make you use their oil to keep a warranty, unless they provide it at no charge..

If the Royal Purple is TCW3 rated (and I expect it is), then using it will not void warranty. You can run any TCW3 in any motor and not void warranty. And with synthetic it does run much cleaner and really wouldn't need ring free.

But the oil mixes with the gas at a ratio depending on your foot. Heavier foot, more gas equals more oil. Even though the ring free goes in the gas tank it still helps with the oil because both are burnt off as you are running down the river........
