Shimano Compre vs Crucial cating rod (reaction series)

If you look at the spec's on both rods they appear to be pretty much the same other than the IM-9 vs IM-10 and Aluminum Oxide vs Alconite guides. Is that really worth the $50+? Would be using it as a jerkbait rod. Would like to hear some opinions good or bad and even better if you have used both to compare. (Talking about the newest models not older).

I've haven't had a chance to see the new Shimano rods. I have several Cumara rods which is basically the new Crucial rods now by the looks of the specs I've seen. Since it's for reaction baits, you won't notice the added benefits of the Crucial as much as you would for plastics. The crucial should be a little lighter but probably not by much. It will all come down to what you are looking for in a rod. They will both do what you are wanting them for. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the opinion. I can justify spending more on a rod in the 150+ range when sensitivity and weight is an issue with bottom contact or finese type baits.....but cranking and reaction type baits I don't really see the point in spending more than 80-100 bucks on a rod like that as the action of the rod is more important than anything else really. The Crucials do look sweet though!
