    1873 rifle

    Does anyone know why it is so hard to find Uberti's or Cimmeron's or anythign in the cowboy action shooting anymore? I'm looking for 2 1873 rifles in 44-40 and cant find anything...???

    If the 1873 action had been successful, and strong enough, we would never have seen the 1892 and then 1894 Winchesters. The '73 action was pretty much the same as the famous 1866 "Golden Boy" except it had a steel receiver, and was really only suited to hand gun sized rounds. Strangely enough Colt released the 44-40 pistol because Winchester wouldn't release the '73 in .45 Colt.
    As to your original question, sorry, I don't know.
