    ETEC 225 HO Max RPM

Hi I have a 2005 ETEC 225 HO on a 20' Malibu Flightcraft Ski Boat. This motor is replacing a 2001 Rude Ram, which I used to run at 6000-6100 Rpm with a 23" Tepmest prop for 71mph on GPS. I know the recommend RPM for the ETEC is 5800, but I don't want to prop up too much and loose the added torque from the new motor, so my question is, If I run the motor at 5900 to 6000 Rpm once in a while (and ususally no more than 40 or so seconds as I live on a small lake) will I void my warrantee on the motor?
Also, what is the rev limiter set to on these motors.
    Thanks,
    Neil

    No, you won't void it.

The rev limiter is a touch over 6200.

Re: ETEC 225 HO Max RPM (1niceBlazer)

Well, I have been told not to run my 2005 ETEC225HO that high, but oh well. I have propped my boat to run consistantly between 6000-6100 rpms by myself and I have run it that way since day one.
