1. Shouldn't need a new one unless the old one is wore out or damaged.
2. Can't answer as I don't use it.

Thanks guys... I haven't put the 24 TP on it yet, I was just trying to make sure I had everything ready to go... so it should have enough clearance correct?
Never hurts to check when your there.........can always change it if there is a problem though. You wouldn't think so though

The 23M is a Yamaha prop thus using a Yamaha thrust washer.
The 24 Tempest is a Merc prop that will need the thrust washer that comes with the Merc to Yamaha hub kit.
