Awful tilt noise on the way down!!!!!

Brand new 115 e-tec
I have an awful tilt noise when I tilt or trim down, It it quiet on the way up and quiet on the way down for a fraction of a second, then this noise starts.
It sound like it is inside the cylinder. I have tried the proceedure once described by Rusty to tilt all the way down and then release manual srew and run up/down a few cycles. I have also checked level and it is dripping out of the fill screw. I have checked all pivot pionts and for any obstructions.

My guess is it air .

Is their any other method of bleeding ???

I am able to make the noise go away if I loosen of the Manual release screw back a 1/4 turn .Tilt seem to hold with no creep down .

Are you sure that it's not the balls on the end of the trim rods? If they're dry and not well greased they'll make a heck of a racket.

I may be wrong but I do not see any rods, just one cylinder.
If I tighten the Manual release screw all the way in the noise is there,back it off 1/4 turn and it is gone?? Goes all the way up and down with apparently no creep down.

At times when I trim my motor down it would make a loud noise. I had to grease the balls on the ends of the trim rods like Al said, and that helped...............TA

Once again just one cylinder no rods!!! Manual Screw in ,tilt down = noise. Manual screw 1/4 turn out ,tilt down =no noise.

Check the fluid just to be sure it is full, if it is see your dealer, it is most likely just air.

By the way, there is only one rod on this motor.
