E-TEC's suck....

the life out of other brand outboard owners. I swear most of them will search and search the internet to find some bad press by an "unbiased" rag and parade it like it were the word of "GOD"...whomever you chose him to be. This is really getting old, but I think BRP needs to step up and defend and/or better the E-TEC to leave the others even further in ther wake.

Nah CM , He's like me and wanting the E-TEC to just mow em down!!!!! BRP is on the right track,as much as I hate to say it, they are trying to make us understand the engines are RELIABLE and they will be around when they do have a hiccup!!! But I STILL wanna race!!!!!

What the heck competition all around is good.....The etec is the first hot selling Rude, in almost a decade. It should make merc and yammer jammer make a better product also. ITs a win win situation for us the consumer.....

I like what he posted......but I have one question for all.

If you build the best outboard motor ever known to man....why would you defend it ??????

Everyone on this or any other public forum can see that one post about the E-Tec will bring "The Others" running to post about one article published in a "unbiased" magazine....Hell one company has set up a whole ad campaign around it.

The E-Tec will get stronger by proving it on the water....Not in a magazine.

I'll tell ya how ETEC can prove it's the best on the water. They, BRP, can prove it to me by giving me 3 of them. I need a 150, a 250 and a CR 250.

Dae, I've been trying for years to get test product, has'nt happened yet. As for BRP performance and bashing. Let them cry!!! Thats all the competition can do when they have an inferior product! Cause they damned sure can't keep up!!

BRP sent some techs to France to help a privateer race team set up and run E-Tecs in the 24 hours of Rouen. A race that Mercury has dominated for years. In its first showing the E-Tec spanked all the mercs and placed 1st!

BRP doesn't want anyone to think they are doing anything with racing yet but that just isn't true. They are giving help to a select group of people. Not just the cirle stuff either. They are helping with drag motors also. I think it is just a matter of time before they come out with some serious race motors. You can bet that when they do they will be very competitive motors.

BRP cannot afford to blow their growing reputation for reliability by having a few handbuilt motors blow up with their brand name on them at an inoportune time. Just like the E-Tec technolodgy, they are going to take their time and not release anything until it is ready.

Yesterdays news and a different company doesn't apply to the BRP products of today.
I own a FICHT and for the record I have had problems but that doesn't make BRP responsible. My next engine will be an E-TEC!!

Remember this also!!! I talk to people almost every day that have 98-99 model Fichts running strong to day with 500+ hrs on the engines!!!!! They weren't all bad, I think it was a matter who your technician was!!!!

Yeah, I got one. A 98 150 (and they are suppose to be the worst) that still running strong and showin no signs of lettin up. You just gotta run the chit out of them, they love to go fast- WOT or nothin

And for the record, I am negotiating a deal on another boat right now and its got a Evinrude on it too- but its a 225HO

Ficht is a totally different critter' I had one and it was JUNK dropping at least a GRAND a season just to keep it running, in the shop all the flippin' time....

Now I got an E-TEC, this is the shizits!!! Runs like a scalded dog and she won't slow down...I have had it since 4/05....By the time the Ficht was this old the powerhead had blown and a couple fo Fuel injectors had crapped out!!!
