Hey guys, need your help. There is a guy on another site that has blown a powerhead on a Yamaha 200 2 stroke and wants to know is the motor worth $2,200.00. I am not familar with one that old, does anybody have an idea what it would cost to rebuild a Yamaha that is that age? I would think that it would cost more than $2,200.00 wouldn't it?

I just had an HPDI rebuilt. Probably close to $7K for parts and labor.

It will be much more if a dealer does the work. Depends if the block is in good shape and only to replace one piston, hone or resleeve one hole it will be about 2k from a good local mech. You can add 500 for every hole after that.
I rebuilt mine myself. Did all 6 cylinders, new pistons. new rings, bearings, injectors cleaned and flowed, plus machine work. If I remeber correctly, I did all this for somewhere btween $3500 to $4000.
Right now I am working on one and I think I will be lucky to get it done working on it my self for less than $2500
