Just put new plugs in my 2005 yamaha hpdi..there was small oil stains around the plugs and a small amount of oil had run down from each one. Is this normal.?I do idle a fair amount because many of the lakes I fish are small so no point putting it on plane to go 200 yards.
You do use a torque wrench, don't you?
Get one of the ones from Sears that moves the needle, not some cheap "clicker" type made in some far away place. Believe me, I have one of those clicker types and it's way off. I have found lose plugs twice using the wrench I thought was good, then I was told by a NASCAR wrench to get one from Sears, and I trust him, so I did. No more lose plugs.
I actually dont use a torque wrench but I will..how much torque should I put on the plugs?
I believe it's 18 ft. lbs.
