I was thinking about adding a water separation filter but the instructions on the filter say "not recommended for electronic fuel pumps". Are the fuel pumps on this motor electric? I'm thinking EFI means yes?

It probably means not for electronic lift pumps, not for the EFI pumps...I run a water separating filter on mine and have no problem...
What filter were you looking at?
check out this link http://www.bbcboards.net...stall read the filter instructions on that page under CAUTION. I have the Yamaha 10 micron filter to install?
I see what you mean, but they also recommend a 10 micron filter for OX66 and HPDI motors, so I would assume it should be OK to use...
It may be a way to sell more powerheads and fuel pumps?![]()

You need to read this. It says it is recommended for HPDI, EFI AND CARB motors.

HT recommended for me to install the 10micron 90gph filter. Done deal two years ago.
