    replacing lower unit

I bent a prop shaft and have a spare lower unit I want to install... anything I need to know would be appreciated... shifter height torque recs. etc.. Or should I have a dealer do this... from the parts schematic it looks like I can just unbolt one add some grease to the top of the crank shaft, align the shifter and all is ready to go...

    Thanks

No point in having a spare if you can't change it yourself. Its a simple job. You can't get to the bolts with a torque wrench. don't forget the bolt that holds the tab on, and the one above it going up into the foot. i always put mine in neutral when changing it. Make sure the one you are installing is in neutral also, and you will be good to go.

Are you sure you put grease on the top of the drive shaft and not on the side of the drive shaft splines. Don't think you are suppose to put any grease on the top.
