    Question for the Yamahatech

Ok let’s see if you can give me a straight answer. I sure as heck could not get one from the Yamaha customer service line and my mechanic just told me it is what it is.

What I am wondering is what is the oil consumption rate on a 2008 25 HPDI Series II? I am pushing a Z520.

I will assume it varies in the RPM Range but what should it be in that range?

I have to do some more driving to get a better average but after only about 70 gals of fuel this year it looks like my ratio is high twenties to low thirties to one.

Re: Question for the Yamahatech (ChrisH)

I thought the "double oiling" was just done by pre mixing the gas @ 50-1 plus whatever the oil injection adds. I would think that motor would run 50-1 WOT and down around 100-1 at idle.

Your motor does not automatically run double oil, you premix it to run double oil. My dealer told me the main reason for that is to make sure the oil system is working properly before running it and the system not working and burning up the motor.
