    weird problem.. tech help needed..

    well first thanks for looking...
heres the skinny...out on lake all went well, went WOT back to ramp, slow for no wake zone, slow rolling, and the motor started to act really ruff and i had to bump the hotfoot to keep her running, then it died and i never got it started again, after many attempts. got it home backed her in, and just to add the the frustration, i tried to start her (her being the motor) and she fired right up..
now im really lost...what could it be, i need a reliable motor, and i don't know where to start looking, to find out what happened..
never done this before and ran great all day...
    99 150 carb..vmax
    please ideas hints suggestions...
    thanks

Start with the simplest things. Check your plugs, and look to see if one looks different than the others. Check your fuel system from the tank to the motor, check all filters, and look for leaks. Look for water in the fuel seperator. Drain the carbs and see if any water comes out.

thanks looked at everything looks to be good, i dont know how to drain the carbs tho....
also when on the ramp after it wouldnt start i did notice that my lil in line fuel filter didnt have any gas in it yet right after it wouldnt start (on the lake) i tried pumping the bulb and it was tight...not sure if that helps any diagnose gurus out there, but thought id mention it as it may..but when i got it home pumped bulb filled filter and it started...
    just weird...im lost...still....
    thanks..

Had my Yamaha 250 do the same thing. My motor began to run ruff at idel. Had to keep my foot on the hot foot to keep it running. I would get it up on plan and it would run normal. When I would come off plan it would cut off , and wouldn't crank. Got home fired up fine. Have a dirt dobber made a home in my exhust. Motor wouldn't breath right while sitting deep in the water, but you get the vents above the foot out of the water it would run great. In my case that explanes why it ran good on plan and wouldn't when i came off plan( vent would go under water. Hope this helps.
