I have a Yam. Vmax 3.1L - 2001 - 200HP, on a 19.5' Ranger.
I'm looking to add a 6" jack plate, but my current motor toter is at it's max length. any ideas, thoughts, locations on what i should do, or where i should buy a longer one?
thanks,
ScottSC

I have that same motor on a 20' and I was playing with my boat forward and back on my trailer and found a longer transom saver at Cabela's. They had one that was like 42" max, and then one that was 54". The 54" was like "jeezo, this thing is huge!"
Turns out I ended up leaving my boat where it was originally on the trailer and took it back, but that 54" Transom Saver was huge. If anything would be long enough, it'd be that thing.
Got any pics of your boat? Those intercoastals are cool.![]()

Sure thing, don't have any really good ones, yet. need to/will soon. but here are a few. i put a new trolling motor (minnk 101), hummbird elec. and 3-bank charger on it 2008.

Man, that boat is sweet! I love our "white" boats with no carpeting.![]()
I'm a bit surprised they put full cleats on your boat though. Mine's an '01 as well, and they usually put retractable cleats on the salt boats, knowing that us flyfishermen are more likely to be on them. (Cleats=tangled fly lines.) I have three cleats on my boat, one up front, and two off the stern, and they're all retractable.
But that rig is sweet Haus, I like it.
Here's a shot of my interior. I really like my stand-up center console for the bigger what I usually fish. I put an 80lb Terrova on mine, replacing the Maxxum that's on it in this pic. I went with the 80 because 95% of my fishing is drifting, only using the TM to swing the boat through the wind or whatever. LSC is shy on structure, so I'm not on the TM much at all. The 101 would be nice, but I've never needed more motor than I have, so the 80lb works well for me.

i like that!, very clean boat and great dog!
someday i'll have a pup that i'll bring out with me, but not yet.
yes, i agree with you on the pop-up cleat deal. i don't know why they didn't do that. it isn't like it is a cheap boat. they are resested in the gunnel a bit, so really, i haven't had much of an issue with them. i've fly fished off of it a few times and the tangles have been minor, and as far as bass fishing, very few tangles. i've though about putting in pop-up cleats, but just haven't. i put in a retractable rod strap, and that was about as much fiberglass cutting as i want to do. really happy with it, but not sure i'd get as much "bang" for the pop-ups as i did for the rod strap.
Thanks. I'd say if you're not having any trouble with them leave them be. I know what you mean about cutting glass. It was all I could do to drill the new holes for my Terrova!
