I'm sure it has already been discussed but I am getting a 300 HPDI on my new boat and I was wondering if there was a difference besides cost between the two. Also would using SeaFoam effect warranty?
Thanks,
Alan

Seafoam will not effect warranty and they both work equally well. I use Seafoam 5 years now no problem.![]()
Yep, use Sea Foam. GE did a test with both and he found that Seam Foam worked better at getting carbon build up off of O2 sensors.
RingFree was $14.99 a bottle locally today (April 16th)... its $10.40 at the website BELOW, no tax and no shipping for 10 or more bottles...get together and order! That is 10 bottles for $104 to your door.

... $4.59 less a bottle cheaper buys some boat gas!
Local great deal example: Sea Foam was $5.98 (or $63.38 for 128 oz) at Advanced Auto BUT its $39.80 for the gallon can (128 oz) I bought today at Advance Auto... should last about 2 years cause its 10.6 bottles or just $3.75 a bottle!
RingFree is an upper cylinder lubricant highly recommended for Yamaha outboards... Sea Foam is an all-around engine internal cleaner (de-carbs too) you can use it in cars or boats in gas or oil... one of my Uncles is a retired jet mechanic (Air Force) and I asked him about Sea Foam 5 years ago and he said they have been using it in the AF for many years, was A+ good stuff. RingFree is about 1 oz per 10 gallons of gas and Sea Foam about an ounce per 2 gallons... Sea Foam is best added before you expect make a couple of long fairly high speed runs on a big lake.

you better recheck your math. 1 pint = 16 oz, or 8 cans/gallon, works out to 4.98/can when purchased by the gallon at your Advance store; still a good deal though.
I use ring free and seafoam. Alternating the usage, Seafoam is 1oz for every 1 gallon and ringfree is 1oz for every 10 gallons. Ringfree seems expensive but 1 bottle of it treats 120 gallons where as 1 can of seafoam treats 25 gallons. just a little info
My bad, assumed 12 ounce can, still a super deal, here is website info.
Part No. SF128
Seafoam Seafoam Gallon (128 ounces) $39.88 or $4.98 per 16 ounces.
Part No. SF16
Seafoam Fuel Additive: 16 oz. $5.88 (90 cents a can more than by the gallon)

Went into my local Yamaha powersport dealer yesterday to see if they had any ring free on the shelf. They did for $20.33 for 12 ounce bottle.![]()

I've been using seafoam at the rate of 1 oz per 10 gals for about 2 years now, no problems and inside of prop was nice and clean. Recently bought a bottle of Ring Free to give it another try. I've used most of a 12 oz bottle in the last few tournaments and the inside of my prop is black and greasy. What is this telling me? Is the ringfree blowing more carbon out of my motor or is it the ringfree itself that is causing this?
