Trim Piston on 2004 Yamaha 250 HPDI

I made a bonehead mistake today. I tried a new transomsaver built specifically for Yamahas. It has two sleeves that fit over the trim pistons and a center piece that actually contacts the motor and raises/lowers motor. Unfortunately (I'll simplify and say I was NOT paying attention) as I was trimming down the thing went down crooked. I had to beat it off. NOW one of my trim pistons does NOT rise. The other works fine. Obviously I have to get it fixed, but how bad a problem do you think it is? Could I get by with a tournament this weekend and fix it later? What do you think it will cost?

If you didn't bent it, you probably blew the O ring inside and the fluid is just net pressurizing it. If you run with just the other you may blow it as well. I would see if a dealer can fix it this week.

I would nerver use any transome saver that rest on the ram rods, it's just not the way to do it in my opinion...

I use the Outboard Motor Jack and your only suppose to use one, the other side has a grease fitting that you will rip off. And the Outboard Motor Jack is what they recommend now, it don't put the pressure on your lower unit like the old transom saver does.

Really its just a heavy duty piece of plastic you slide over your trim shaft for towing.
