    What exactly is the problem?

ok im posting this for my dad. he has an 01 suzuki two stroke 140hp big bore four cylinder. the question i have is today he was going across the lake and he said he started slowing down but the rpms were climbing. he slowed down put it in neutral then back in gear. he said at low rpms the boat would move but when he gave it more gas it wouldnt speed up but the rpms would. i thought that he may have spun the hub on the prop. well i put it in gear to see if the prop would turn and it did but it made a clicking noise. is this normal? i put my merc in gear and i couldnt turn the prop. im not exactly sure about suzuki motors so any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Blake

sounds like it needs a shift adjustment, and maybe a spun prop also

fix the grinding and change gear lube asap
