Hi guys, picked up a lifting ring for my 225 efi to mount a jack plate. Question is do I have to remove anything or will it screw right on over top of the flywheel? Any tips will help. Thanks.

If you have a plastic cover over the flywheel, remove it.
Remove any "yellow plastic plug" in the center of the flywheel (if it was there... toss it- they end up in places you don't want them at some point anyway).
Thread lifting eye into center of flywheel until seated (count the turns). Don't overtighten!
Lifting eye must thread in a MINIMUM of 5 FULL REVOLUTIONS.

removing the flywheel cover is a snap . just snap it off and snap it back on .
