Anyone have these installed on any 3.0 mercs. And how do they compare to Hydro tech or Boysen reeds???

I've installed a number of sets in both 2.5 and 3 liter applicatons, with VERY good results.
I can't speak regarding Wayne's reeds... as I've never had the opportunity to test them.
Regarding Boyeson's... I recommend CCR's over Boyeson in every case EXCEPT for the 250XB or 300 Promax (and there, simply due to the fact that I've not had the opportunity or need to test his reed over the FACTORY EQUIPPED Boyeson-style reed set).![]()
What engine are you considering them for?

While talking reeds, I was wandering if I need to replace mine. I have about 700-800 hrs on my 04 225 EFI. How much are the CCR reeds?? If I may also ask do I need to replace the thermastats. Thought I'd ask while I was bringing up replacing parts...dont mean to "hijack " the post. Thanks Matt
Matt, the reeds themselves sell for 125$ a set, one motors worth.you will need gaskets,we can supply them as well,I'll need your serial number to quote the price around 25-35$.they will perform better and safeguard your motor against major mechanical damage should you break a steel reed, very common. At your hours it would. be a good idea to change the thermostats, and have the oil system flushed and cleaned, and the one-way oil to VST valve replaced,as well as the hose,Chris

Thanks, when you get a chance send me an IM with your # and I'll get with you. I just got back from a place called Bienville and noticed lower unit fluid dripping out of four "port" holes in the lower unit. I just had the all the seals replaced about 4 months ago. Gonna pull the prop and see if I have any braid/ fishing line around the prop. I may have to wait a month or so depending on the cost of getting the seals replaced....again.![]()
Definitely get that gearcase pressure tested to confirm where the leak is originating from.
IM Sent.... BTW- phone number is in my signature.![]()
