Not sure if this is a motor thing or something needing lubed?
I have a hot foot just for a little info...when i am in reverse and shift back to neutral it continues to stick in reverse and i need to shift into forward to get it to shift out. was wondering if anybody could tell me what is going on? i always make sure that i have my hot foot all the way back for a slow idle.

Some of the more common problems that cause this:
-Improper shift cable adjustment
-Worn shift cable or control box
-BENT shift relay arm (arm that runs between cable attachment point and the shift shaft up under the powerhead). Often evidenced by "wear marks" in the bottom of the PORT-LOWER cowling. **
** Note: The shift relay arm is most commonly bent from attempts to shift the engine when it is not running (do NOT attempt to shift the engine unless it is running, OR the prop is spinning).
