Stuff to check - lost ear on prop - significant vibrations

The other day, I lost a ear on my prop. I had to go at fwd idle speed back to the ramp several miles to get back. It was a long way. There was significant vibration in the engine and boat. I plan to check my gear case for water to make sure I didn't lose a seal. What else should be checked?

As a "rough field check"- install a known, straight propeller.

Focus ONLY on the "dimple" in the end of the propshaft.

Spin the prop BY HAND, while watching the "dimple".

If you can VISUALLY see the dimple wobbling or moving- the shaft is bent. Maximum runout is .006"... and you can't really see that with the naked eye....
