    Pro XS problem for Don

I have a 2010 200 Pro XS, well it is in the shop again for the same thing. Here is the problem.

WOT seems to run fine. At lower lower speeds it is surging, shakes, and kicks a little. Took it to the dealer the first time, they said nothing was wrong, I don't really trust the mech, I'm a helicopter mech and QA Inspector myself and I know something is wrong with the engine. What's my next step if the dealer comes back with the same answer and after I throttle his a$$ with all the trouble-shooting procedures he did if any? Looking at getting a vessel view or merc monitor to help me out for trouble-shooting if it would help. Any help and or suggestions please.

Don can you get me a price for the Merc Monitor including any extra harness to read for all my guages from fuel to the remote oil fill and mounting kit. I have 2010 Nitro Z-7. I have all the regular guages - Speed, RPM, Trim, Fuel, Volt, Water Pressure. I don't have any HDS or GPS electronics.

    Thanks

    Suggestions:

    1. A "fresh" set of eyeballs. This may mean locating a different dealer, preferably one that's committed to finding and correcting the problem you're experiencing.

    2. Contact Mercury at the phone number in the back of your owner's manual. Have your serial number on hand if you decide to call. They may have some suggestions (both on your problem, and who may be best equipped to assist you with your problems).

As for what might be causing your problems.... I'd suggest that the fuel lines be checked, pulse fuel pump inspected, air/fuel pressures monitored, and a SWEEP TEST of the TPS be done.

I'll drop you an IM with information on the MercMonitors.

Not really up to speed on this system. What is the difference between the Level I and II, along with the different size system link guages? Please explain. I am commited to buying this system just wanna make sure I don't get something that I'm not gonna use between the different levels.

    Thanks.

Re: Pro XS problem for Don (Florida1)

    The "simple" explanation:

BASIC MercMonitor: Handles all engine data, warnings, alarms, etc. Is not equipped with the "Eco" feature, and does NOT have an NMEA-2000 gateway.

Level One: All features of the Basic MercMonitor, plus additional "tri-data" screens, ECO FEATURE INCLUDED, and is capable of EXPORTING engine data over an NMEA-2000 Network (for display on a GPS, etc.).

Level Two: All features of the Level One Mercmonitor, plus additional export data items AND the ability to IMPORT data (such as GPS Speed, COG, Longitude, Latitude, and Clock Updates).

More information on the MercMonitor can be found here:

    NMEA-2000 Gateway Data (for Level 1 & Level 2):

If you have further questions, I'd be glad to discuss options and features by phone.
