Do smart craft gauges require any special type of fuel sender? Thanks.
Do smart craft gauges require any special type of fuel sender? Thanks.
This is what i find in my pc, i have Wema in my boat.
What fuel level senders should I use with my SmartCraft gauges?
Any type of sender that outputs 33 Ohms full to 240 Ohms empty (or a voltage representative of that resistance range). Some fuel sender technologies are much better than others. Please avoid using the float arm type senders as they are designed for analog systems. Senders that have been known to work well are WEMA, Royce, ISSPRO, and Moeller Digital.

MOST traditional fuel senders WILL work with Smartcraft.
It is IMPERITIVE that the ORIGINAL "PINK" wire be COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED from the sender (and isolated so there is NO POSSIBILITY that it can find it's way back to the sender). Replace the PINK wire with the PINK W/BLACK STRIPE wire from the "fuel/oil/paddle harness" (which connects between the engine and these senders).
Any analog gauge that you had in the boat will be "non-functional" after this is done.
If you wish to have a viewable "gauge".... you can obtain (and install) a System Link Fuel Gauge (which simply "daisy chains" off the Smartcraft Instrument Harness).![]()

I have the fuel gauge to install, just haven't done it yet. It was on backorder. Thanks.
