    Evinrude/ Johnson motors

In another thread, a few of ya'll commented on how good of fuel mileage the Evinrudes/ Johnson's get. What year models are relatively good. Gonna look for a 150hp for the party barge. Thanks Jeff

Definitely NOT the old GT 150. Those were some great motors, but they loved some petro.

I had an 89 and it drank gas like I used to drink beer, I couldn't afford either.

    Re: Evinrude/ Johnson motors (jigginjeff)

I had an '04 DFI that was pretty good on fuel....as long as I wasn't running WFO.

I would have to say 4 stroke is the way to go on a party barge. Stick to the EFI motors though. My buddy had a Honda 75 and that thing was thirty as a carb'd motor!
