    Running Toledo Bend

Are the boat lanes well marked and safe to run? Going in 2 weeks and the one time I was there I did not venture very far. Will the color junebug work in this lake or more the red shad colors in the plastics.

The LA side is marked WAY better than the TX side, the main North / South boat road (red and green buoys) is well marked. It's not uncommon for a few buoys to be missing on the alternate boat roads. If you are runnin and do not see the next buoy, shut down until you find it. The lake is over full pool and it "appears" you can run all over the place. I seen some boats last week near Patroon run accross some spots that made me pucker just watchin. If they only knew what was under them

Are the East West lanes marked well enough to run. I have a map with the lanes from 2006. Thanks for the data. Hoping to catch a few and enjoy the trip. Just leisure no tournament fishing.

    Re: Running Toledo Bend (lightfoot)

Went last week and the boat lanes are fine and most are well marked. I did see some floating timber in a couple of lanes so watch for that. There was one stump sticking up in the San Miguel lane close to the State Park, may have been floating but it was there 4 days. I would not run WOT in a place you have not run in first because of the floating stuff.

Spinnerbaits are definitely the ticket. See my TB report in this forum.

    Re: Running Toledo Bend (210SP)

If you have a GPS, there's some boat lane software you can buy and download on your unit that are PRICELESS! We got that for our trip this year and we crossed the lake from the TX to the LA side with absolutely no problem. We crossed on 3 different crossings and none, 0 of them were marked!! But like they said, the LA side is much better than the TX side. There are buoys missing in several different places on the TX side that I saw. I just knew which line to stay on because of the boat lanes on the GPS.

Heard some good reports on spinnerbaits, but I caught the vast majority of my fish on a trap while I was there. Good luck!

Hey Frogpond, you talk about this PRICELESS software you bought but you didn't give us the name. I know, if you tell me then you will have to kill me, But don't leave everyone else just hangin

Don't remember the name of the website, but a Lake Fork guide by the name of Lance Vick has the boat lanes software. You can find him on TFF.
