    NEED SOME HELP WITH FISHING.

hey guys it's been a while since i been on and i just wanted to say high. well here seems to be my problem i went out fishing two Saturday's a go and again this morning and yet to catch a bass. now i did catch a wind burn. I'm really interested in learning how to bass fish and it would be really great if anyone can show me some tricks of the trade. so if anyone is interested in getting together let me know and we can set something up. you guys have a good night.

I would suggest...if you haven't done it much...to wait about 2 months before going again...much more enjoyable, and you should catch more fish...

Re: NEED SOME HELP WITH FISHING. (Chad)

I agree with Chad. I would wait until the last week of February and fish until the end of March. If you can't catch fish on a warm day in March, hang it up and start your golfing career.

IM Doug McGhee, he can help put you on some fish over in your area.

It's worst than trying to catch fish. Don't ask me how i know. Just hang in there, it'll get better as the weather warms up.

Well the way I see it everyone has to start somewhere. gulf is not my thing and if I can pick up the bass fishing like my saltwater fishing I'll be in business. Plus I never give up on a challenge after all I have to win some of the tournaments out there.

Once you "pattern" the fish in your area, you will have it down. From experience, I know that here in Bayou Black, the best fishing is from mid-Feb. until the end of March. You will learn what canals turn on first, and where the fish will spawn the latest. It's different in all areas and weather is the deciding factor. If you get 4-5 days of 70+ degree weather. GO FISHING. Throw a spinnerbait, lizard or jig and you should put some fish in the boat. If you have any other questions, feel free to IM or email any of us, we will be glad to help.

    NEED SOME HELP WITH FISHING.

I hear you...very year I "zip" in one of the clubs here or two or three...after 28 years of fishing for bass...latest was last Saturday! Lake Bruin, jigged my heart out...had a 4.45 last event there...left an hour early...went across that big lake at only 30mph the raindrops were hitting me so hard...boat bilge pumps working...perfect end to a perfect day!

Just shake it off, think about your plan of attack....
hey, its not paying any bills...really chaps me to zip but I do it about 7% of the time...
worst thing was 13.02 won! Two others had over 12 pounds.
Thanks for "culls"...clubs allow you to drop 3-4 events per year...that was an "instant cull"...
    its all about attitude.
(fishing is a physical manly sport few realize till they do it...I am not old enough for golf...any 70 year old cab ride a cart, drink beer, shoot the bull and swing a club once every 15 minutes..I always encourage guys to stay on the course or in the deer stand...leave more bass for me)

Re: NEED SOME HELP WITH FISHING. (toledo bend jim)

The man lives by one of the best places to fish this time of year. Put in at the ramp on main street and start workin your way to the lake. The camp canals past the bridge should be good with a blk/blu jig or a blk/sapphire speed craw. the points will hold fish sometimes a fire tiger or shad bandit will usually get there attention. as you get closer to the lake break out a DOA shrimp clear with gold flake and fish it like a jerk bait. At lacaombe i always keep a 1/8 or 3/16 oz golden shiner spinner bait tied on! If no luck get back to me and we'll get together after hunting season. If you wait til late feb the big fish bite will be over with there.

albin, just put in at the main street boat ramp, start fishing the bank across from the ramp, next to deep water. june bug colored lizard, bark colored jig. fish small baits 1/4 oz. to 3/8oz. work your way south toward the lake work the mouth of every cut, should pick up a fish hear, and there.good luck

Albin, I recommend you sign up as a co-angler for the Weekend Series tourny this weekend on the Pearl. You can ride along and pick up some good areas with whomever you draw. It'll cost you about $150.00 but thats cheaper than a guide. If you don't get a chance to fish the tournament you could go to the weigh in on Sat. and possibly pick up some information.
