96 venom 200 hard starting

`I have a 96 200 venom that is hard to start when cold. Once its ran for a few minutes its great the rest of the day. Its just that time when I'm launching it that gets on my nerves. It keeps dying 3 or4 times before it finally gets going. Any suggestions on what it could be.

I'll repeat what the guru's say. These are cold blooded beasts. I lean on the primer all the way down the boat ramp and crank 'till it goes. Then I have to bump the primer a few times 'till the brute warms up a bit. After that, it starts in a heartbeat.

yep exactly the same thing happned to me when i got mine
asked a dealer and he told me
choke it till you think your chokin it to much and keep goin it will start
and havent had a prob since

Have a 96 200 Venom myself. Same thing happens to me. I've gotten into the habit of starting it at home before I leave just to avoid the chuckles from my buddies. But, once over that hump, no more problems all day.

I read on here once to hold the choke in for about 30 seconds prior to starting. I tried it but it didn't seem to make any difference on mine.
