    Optimax Oiling System Functioning Properly?

I dropped a screwdriver behind my remote oil tank so I had to remove the filler tube from the remote oil tank in order to move the tank enough to get into the transom area and retrieve the lost tool. When putting it back together I ensured the tank o-ring was intact and tightened down the fitting as hard as I could by hand, I fired up the motor and loosened the bleeder on the small oil tank under the cowling to see if it was pumping oil. Oil was coming out of the bleeder so I assume my oiling system is pressurized and working properly, on a side note there is a tiny bit of air in that tank (has always been there) that I can not seem to get out maybe like the size of a 3/8 bullet weight I have tried trimming up and down to move it around but to no avail. Is this the proper way to check the oil system pressure? Is there an alarm that would sound if the system wasn't working properly? FYI its that 03 225 OPTI that I keep asking about.
I dont have my smartcraft system monitor hooked up yet either just guessing that it would provide oil pressure info.

    Thanks

No oil pressure information on Optimax engines.

There ARE warnings for "low oil level", however.

You might try "sucking" 3-4 ounces of oil out of the engine mounted tank (a syringe with a small plastic tube works well for this). Attempt to bleed the air out of the engine mounted tank again.

You may retain a small (very small) air bubble- some tanks do this due to "variances" in the shape of the tank. I wouldn't concern with a bubble the size of what you describe.... but since you removed the pickup from he main tank, I would still follow the above steps to re-bleed the system (it may save you some hassle on the water later).

Will do, so if I am able to pump oil into the small tank under the cowl am I correct to assume my oil system is functioning properly? Thanks Again Don!

If it will "bleed" the air from the tank, this would indicate that the pressure feed system (that moves oil from the boat tank to the engine tank) is functioning.
