#2 carb jet bigger..fact, or fiction?

Several times I've read here that #2 carburator should have jets 2 sizes larger than the other carbs. My mech at Reynold's Marine said other-wise. Even on the carb exploded view there isn't an alternate size, or view offered.
On my 91 VE 200STELD there is only a #0326928 #55 orfice shown. Is this right, or am I full of (Deleted by RUSTY63)?

I may be wrong but I think there were a few year models where this was a problem and I don't remember the 91's being mentioned. The 72 jets were for the 225 hp motas. The gurus will be here shortly to give ya the full details

The only jet that should be replaced is the main jet in #2 carb, tell your guy to get a service manual and check the jet chart, it will have a listing for a main jet two sizes larger for your motor.

Is this jet change across the board on all carbed V6's looper & Crossflows. I thought I had read somewhere that it was recommended for the crossflows to be richen up a size or two. Isszat so?

Around here, we like to lean the cross flows out a bit.

Replacement of number two main jet is for the 90 degree V-6 200-225.

Fantastic, I will keep the stock jets and the WOT timing set @ 28 degrees. You guys are the best. The weather have been to wet, soggy, windy and cold to go out for any test & tune or sport fishing. Hopeful for the weekend.

Ha ha ha, we will have few more days to piddle around out on the bay although, the crabs are not going to hang around. Peetie and me are going out early in the morning if they lift the small craft warning on the bay. I think I will probably start raising the mota up one hole at a time now until it starts ventilating or start to handle bad.
OBTW, what is the torque on the four transom bolts.

As tight as you can pull them and 1/4 turn more.

I might be old but, I ain't weak. I pull 150 ft. lbs with one hand while holding the flywheel with other when torquing my flywheel bolt on my XP. I would be afraid that I might bust my transom doncha think.
This old man still tote a 064 Stihl chainsaw with a 28" bar all day. <smile>
All jokes aside would about 150 ft. lbs be ok?

If I remember correctly the torque is around 50-70 ft pounds.

This question doesn't come up much.

Thank you kind sir! I am almost sure that I will raise that motor this week, as soon as I figure out which sealer that I will around the transom bolts. I am not sure if I will drive them out and re-seal them or leave them in place in the transom and just use a soft sealer to seal the bolts on the outside of the transom. As of now, I don't have any water leaking out of my boat when I come in and put my boat on the trailer.
