    Big Hill help

Heading to Big Hill for the first time on Saturday....keep hearing horror stories about stumps and dont want to tear anything up. Is the lower end around mound valley ramp and west wide open to run around? I noticed on one map that there is a boat lane that runs from the lower part up to Timber Hill boat ramp...is there marked lanes north of this ramp? What is the water like...clear, dirty? Are there good populations of both largemouth and smallmouth? THanks for any info you can share...not looking for spots or anything just general info on the lake and navigation advice.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

open to the boat lane,, then from timber hill north your on your own don't lift till you see God it is Smallies country in the dam area... TH north is LM country... i'll give you all of my spot , but you will want to avoid them because there is never any fish on them

sounds good Mike....will probably get there between 630 or 7am and launching at Mound Valley...will be in a white and teal Skeeter. Most likely will be out there all day trying to get familiar with the lake.

your gonna need all the help you can get in that damn lake!!!

unless its been changed, the boat lane running north and south is mismarked, you need to stay to the East of the markers and you should be fine, the West side will put you running in right throught the timber

That may still possibly hold true, I haven't been there myself. I just have a hunch they may have corrected that right before the Memorial Day weekend Holiday. Anybody know for sure?

The best advice I could give too.I guess maybe if enough boats get tore up and guys quit spending their money in Labette Co. then maybe there would be enough pressure on the C.O.E. to make things right. We'll see you out there.

    Re: Big Hill help (LOG)

Thanks for the info guys, I appreciate it. If any of you guys are out there and see a white and teal skeeter wondering around aimlessly that will be me. Come by and say hi.

Logan, I am sure I will leave plenty for everyone...kind of like Perry Lake.

Matthew, come say hi if you get out there.
