I have 2 questions. First, I have the rattle at 3000-4000 rpms. The engine has 24 hours. Has this been determined that this is normal? Second, is there a lock n stow for this engine? I looked at Cabelas and Bass Pro and couldn't find one.

1. There is a harmonic vibration in these motors in the 3000-4000 RPM range. It can be "exaggerated" by anything loose on the engine- steering hardware, mounting bolts, trim tab anode loose, hood latches loose, etc. We do find that engines mounted to jackplates tend to be a little worse- and it can be improved slightly by adding a small, 5/16" bead of 3M 5200 Sealant to the transom mounting brackets before installing the engine (dampening some of the vibration).
2. Lock-n-stow IS available for this engine- we should have one in stock. Feel free to give me call if you want to order one!
