    260 questions

    Just went run my new to me 260. It has just been rebuilt and it is the first 260 I have owned. On my Pro Max, the fuel pump would build up pressure and stop running. Should the fuel pump always be on? The round overflow valve at the top of the fuel rail has what sounds like an air leak while the pump is running. Is this normal? Thanks for the help.

    Yes, the pump should always be running on a 260/280/drag. It uses an open loop system, which uses a return line back to the tank to recapture unused fuel. Your ProMax used a deadhead fuel system.

    The round "overflow valve" at the top of the fuel rail is actually a fuel pressure regulator.

    Should the fuel pressure regulator sound like it has an air leak? I sprayed soapy water on it to see if it is leaking, but could not find any leaks.

    That's probably the fuel rushing through the bleed fitting that you hear. It has a tiny hole, so that's probably it.

    Did you just put this 260 on your boat? if so did you run a return line from the regulator back to your tank
