    Kentucky lake help

    Hey guys,
I am coming down with a small club this next weekend and will be staying down around the Aurora area..just wanted to see if someone could give me and idea of what the lake is looking like and what kind of bite the bass might be on.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
    Matt

I'd about bet you aren't going to be having your tournament. Like Dave said in the other post, they would not consider spilling like they are if they weren't expecting it to fill right back up. The predictions make it look like they are more concerned with the Tennessee flooding than the Ohio, and we already know the Ohio is going crazy. Good time to stay on high ground

I am done here right now and I would recommend you stay home the lake is really down and its going to get worse. The fishing has been ok when we can get out on the water crankbait and brush hogs r the baits we r catching them on. Good luck.

I doubt that. I see no reason why they would cancel. Water levels will be below summer pool, but shouldn't be any reason why you would stay home or expect your tournament to be can canceled. It's the Ohio River that's the issue, not the lakes.

You may be right. I just can't imagine they will keep spilling that fast with them already forecasting near record flooding on the lower Ohio. It seems to me there is no reason for them to be dropping the lake unless they anticipate having to hold a lot of water afterwards.

Like Dave quoted they will be shutting it off Thursday and holding everything.

Re: Kentucky lake help (Joe Skeeter)

    Thanks to you all!
I have been searching aound to find a forcasted level, and the TVA is only showing out to thursday as of today. They are saying it will still be dropping up to this point and I can only assume that it will be making a drastic climb from there throughout the wekend. Any idea how much it could rise in a days time? We might have to find a boat ramp at a little higher elevation...

We planned a tournament all of next week on Kentucky. Folks coming from across the Southeast and Midwest US. Think we will be able to fish?

Fish? Yes. Launching and running the lake are the areas of concern.

They aren't going to be letting much water out, but there's a lot coming in.

I just saw that Moors resort posted that the lake will be up to 373.5 by Tuesday.

Our tournament was canceled. Probably the safest thing to do.
I was sure hoping to fish Kentucky. Good fishing everyone. Be safe!
