Will anyone loan me their Navionics Classic chip ?

I have been trying to buy a Navionics Hotmaps Classic chip for a while now and can't seem to find one. I have a tournament first week of June and I really need to have this chip. Fishing the Triton Owners Tournament on KY Lake and last year my chip I have stopped working below Big Sandy. Is there anyone on here that would either sell me the chip or loan me the chip for the week of June 1st thru June 6th it would be very well appreciated. Thanks, Tom

this may help you...ten hours to go

there are some others as well

Are you sure it is the chip and not a settings problem?

you might mention the make and model of your sounder and someone might be able to help

Lowrance 2004 LMS 320. I have a midwest chip in it now and on KY Lake it stops showing any detail below Big Sandy.

This is a wild guess, but TN may be divided into two sections on the chip...you might check map data with the chip in and see what is on the card...I have a 2006 and a 2007 chip. i will go out and check to see what they show for TN

My 2007 Navionics East chip has TN divided into East TN and West TN. I checked West TN and there is full high-def coverage south of Big Sandy.

I remember some older versions of Navionics East had a lot of incomplete coverage for KY lake. Many of the LBL bays were blank towards the back. Never looked at the TN section during that period

Wish I could help you with a loan, but I need mine next week...good luck

I have a Navionics Classic Chip also and it stops below Big Sandy. It's suppose too. Navionics didn't go past big Sandy on Hotmaps Classic. You need to get a navionics chip 2006 or newer

Mike I was told by Lowrance that the only chip I could use on my LMS 320 is the classic chip. Does that mean I'm sol?

Not Mike, but I checked the Navionics site and think you are correct about the 320 being only compatible with the Hotmaps.

BUT, I checked both the Hotmaps and the Premium lake lists at the website and they appear to now have the same coverage for Kentucky Lake in Tennessee...Henry and Benton counties.

You should probably contact Navionics directly to see if the new HOTMAPS chip has what you need before dropping $100 plus on a replacement for your older chip.

    good luck

You are right, the LMS 320 will only use the Classic chip...Does not have the processor speed for the newer chips...Kinda looks like SOL...I had to upgrade to a newer unit to get where I could use a decent card...

Not sure if this will help you or not, but I just looked again at my 2007 Premium East map of KY Lake in the west tn area.

There is 1-ft contour info south to the 116 mile marker just below Cuba Landing and above a bridge crossing in that vicinity.

Below the bridge are what appear to be the old 5-ft contour intervals from older version of the KY Lake map.

Again, the navionics website shows what appears to be similar coverage for that area on both the Hotmaps chip which your 320 can use and the Premium chip.

I dont think I would give up on your 320 just yet without further investigation of the newer (post 2007 Hotmaps chip)

His unit will not run the newer cards...There is no reason to look at what they cover unless he is getting a new unit...
