    XD-100 in 1999 225 HO

My supply of XD-50 is running low and I was considering going to XD-100. Is there any reason not to switch to XD-100 in this motor? I know I need to get to 1/4 tank of XD-50 before adding XD-100 but is there anything else I should do?

    All help is greatly appreciated!

If you havn't already change to the optional plugs ( QC10WEP ) and change the t-stats to the E-Tec T-Stats.

Never heard of running that plug in that motor.... Was it suggested by the factory?

    Dano,
He's running a carbed Johnson 225 HO so he needs the QL78YC's.

My mistake, no model serial # so I made the mistake of assuming Evinrude.

Now after all of that to answer your question on the oil, if your pocketbook can stand the price of XD-100 in a carburetor engine then go for it and you don't have to wait until you oil tank gets to 1/4 tank before adding the XD-100 on your carbed engine.

    Melvin

If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the porch.

+1 It's the BEST oil, but is pricey in the carb engines.
