My trailer is the same a gkropat's. Those in the link are the 6" oval lights. The original backup lights on our trailers are the small little vertical light to the left of the rectangular tail light in the picture below.

Are the Wesbar's a sealed unit or can you get to the existing bulb to replace it? I've seen it both ways.

If you can get to the bulb, you should be able to find a superbright LED replacment that is a drop in. If it's a sealed module where you replace the whole thing, then we have to keep looking.

    Greg,

I found an article where a guy put LED backup lights on his Jeep. The product he used looks like it might work. here is a link to the page and he has some good photos of the install to give you an idea of the actual size and design of the lights. Not as bright at 55 watt lights of course, but they are marine grade white LED's.

I looked for grommet mounted lights but most were 5 or 6" and would be too large to fit your hole. I have some amber running lights on my trailer that are also the sealed type and probably are the same size hole. So if we can find LED's that fit yours, it will work for me as well. I already converted the rear lights to LED, but the grommet mounted set of side lights are the only ones still incandescent as I previously had not found a set to fit.

For your application, this may work. Just take the regular bulb out and put in one of the superLED "bulbs". It's 3 1/8" diameter so I don't know if it would fit or not. Only issue might be is it submersible, but you could alway's seal it with silicone.

Re: 2000 MFI Trailer - Reverse Lites (dward51)

Thanks David... After a lot of feedback concerning cutting large holes in my trailer.. I decided not to install flush mount LEDs... I'll replace the two factors lites and install two surface mount lites...

I still find it hard to believe that no one has produced an after market direct replacement LED lite for the boat trailers like shown above....
