    Cable Slide

Is there any lube that needs to be put on the cable slide? I don't have any problems with my bow, but just wondered if this would help "tune" my bow and keep it at its peek performance.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

Just keep it clean , sometimes wax from the string gets on it and can make noise . Never lube any of my bows and 2 shoot over 300 fps.

Thanks, that is what I thought, was just looking for some tips I may have missed. Any suggestions for the axles?

No lube for the slide. Axles should be ok for a long time unless they get dirty.

The bearings in most are sealed and most people don't shoot enough to worry about them. Most inportant thing is to take care of the string and cables. A great upgrade is a custom string, 2 of my bows have Bucknasty string /cable sets on them and the workmanship is amazing , plus you can pick colors and materials.

The lube would just attract grit and dust.

    Re: Cable Slide (Kevin R.)

if your concerned about the slides performance, some aftermarket slides are nice like the apline and the sim's. don't lube the guard or slide. just clean any residue off the guard to make sure it slides smooth. make sure your cams/wheels/strings are free of debris and grime and not bound up anywhere where it can interfere with function

mike is right about the strings/cables too. you would be surprised how a new set of customs done right can improve the bows performance
